Limestone can be used for walling, cladding, paving and flooring. Many are particularly suited to carved and moulded work, adding interest to building façades. The limestones of Dorset and Bath remain a prime building material in the UK, and French limestones have been widely used in this country for centuries. Colours range from almost white to warm honey, with grey/blue and darker browns featuring in some limestones.
